There is no fluidity to the motion, no blocking, it's just mindless attacking until ether you or the enemy runs out of HP. If the game wasn't a part of a bundle I would have asked for a refund.. Having a lot of fun with this one. Addictive, lots of weapons and gear, leveling system, fun and varying enemies, quests and allies to complete/find, a base to build up and defend, procedurally generated map that changes if you die, lots of replayability, enjoyable story (love the diary pages), I could probably go on.My only complaint centers on how you upgrade the base... I fel like it should be as days pass, not as time passes. 5.5 hours for me to upgrade the workbench.... I mean, come on.. It's really a shame, this game had potential but the way it was executed ruined it. The game was more frustrating than fun and the reason being: - grinding excessively - crafting new weapons and building your base to the max could of been fun if it was easier to find specific items and not just have things randomly drop from enemies or chest/breakable object.- The map rearranges itself everytime you die or quit the game. - This game needed a simple castlevania back dash to avoid enemy attack but instead your given a foward dash which only helps you progress faster through the room.- most of the main and side mission were about finding items, certain mssion also required me to find blueprints and upgrade.- Certain doors/shaft are locked which require a key to open them but if you die the map rearranges itself, forcing you to find the key again. Its been a awhile since I encounter a game that truly♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥me off, I should of stopped playing after 2 hours but I gave it too much of a chance.. This should be much better if I don't have to spend so much time just to collect some materials and upgrade my gears to finish the quests, also to defeat the bosses.Anyway, the gameplay, soundtrack all is great, specially as an indie game.. Thanks for including this game in a charity bundle! This was a pretty good title. I have a ton of games in the library to go through so I could not play the title long but I am going to file in "maybe play later". I do recommend using a controller, keyboard controls were not that good. I also am not a fan of procedurally generated levels but its alright. I think I could spend a lot of time playing this.. This game is good i can't stop playingYou need to get deeper in to it at the start I was like hmmzzz boringg But if you find out what things you can do in the game... it's amazingNice loot system the higher you go in floors the harder it getsUpgrade your stats defend your room find blue prints super cool crafting systemCool missions this game for me is a 9/10 don't know why its so mixed.... Toy odyssey is a generic rougelike with a frustrating mechanic that penalizes you for something the game does not go a good job of explaining. The combat is lacklastur as there does not seem to be weapon combos so it's all single sword swipe, or a projectile weapon usage. The art is very pleasing on the eyes and it has a decent weapon crafting system. Playing with a controller i have found that originally when unlocking the dash that it would not work but reloading the game fixed this, randomly after dashing sometimes the character will freeze in place and be immobile except for jumping up or dropping down.Overall I would not say this game is amazing but that some people could find it fun.I do not recommend for people seeking out a standard rougelike adventure.. Unable to change keybinding for controller or mouse/keyboard unplayable in current state i do not recommend...Update: just got word from the dev that the issue with DS4 controllers has been fixed i have refunded the game since and waiting for someone else who was having the same issue to respond if it has been fixed if/when i get a response i will give the game another try and write a review.
