(And the text is annoying to scroll through, which really doesn't help.)The controls are sluggish, too - there's a few frames between you hitting the jump button and the character actually jumping. And the difficulty ramps up quickly, which isn't fun. So you mash buttons (there's only one attack button, no interesting combos!) until you win or die, occasionally maneuvering to avoid the worst of the attackers. And there aren't any save slots - just codes. I get that this is recreating the Games Of Yore, but I *played* those, and save codes were the feature I missed least.. SUMMARY: Buy it when it's on sale, preferably for $1-$3. It's not worth $10PROS:The art & music are GREAT, and I love the streamer-vote option.Some of the weird elements of the game add a nice touch of humor & entertainment.Besides that, I'm sorry to say it doesn't have much going for it.CONS: * The characters are not balanced: Ashley plays fine, but Nick is so slow it becomes impossible to dodge certain enemy attacks. Any benefits he may have in durability are made moot by this fact. * Enemy hitboxes are innacurate. It's easy to be SLIGHTLY above/below an enemy, and the his will not land. * Several bosses attack so frequently, it becomes near-impossible to attack them without taking damage. * Many attacks that deal knockback, such as the charge-attack, deal no extra damage. This means it's actually faster to button-mash to defeat an opponent. *** Randomized modifiers. They can be fun sometimes, but the option to turn them off would be a GODSEND. Sometimes they help, but most of the time they make the game harder, or sometimes near unbeatable; it feels like a crutch to increase difficulty where enemy design or layout would be key. If you get the unlucky draw of having a HORDE of enemies attack you, all with enhanced damage, the only way to get past it is to sacrifice many, many lives. * The story is not only rough, it is narrated poorly. I have a rough idea of events, but instead of a story its more like glimpses into someone's fever-dream.WRAPUP: MegaCat, you've got something here. It's a start, and it can be fun. But you need some BALANCE to this. That's your biggest issue; balancing characters, balancing waves of enemies. Coffee Crisis is one of the worst beat'em up games i played. Boring, repetative and way too hard, because enemies will spawn in random numbers, one time you will fight 3 enemies and another time 30. There are also random modifiers that mostly will ♥♥♥♥ you up even more. There are only 3 attacks you can do, and no evade/block option. Most of the times enemies will shoot you instanlty, leaving you without a chance to do anything. Story is weird, combat mechanic suck♥♥♥♥♥ even that metal soundtrack doesnt really help this game. Not recommended.. As a native "yinzer" I have to say that this game hits all the right chords with me. Mega Cat's attention to the Pittsbugh culture makes this game not only fun, but also introduces the world to the pride that we Pittsburghers have for our city. I love this game. Yinz guys have to try it!. This unique sidescrolling beat-em-up is a nice throwback to the retro days and plays really well! It's pretty tough so be ready for a challenge, but the game also gives you the tools like power ups/extra weapons to get through the levels. The soundtrack is awesomeeeee. Haven't played the 2 player yet, but that's on the list. You'll get your money's worth here if you'd appreciate a retro game with modern polish that is here to simply let you beat up aliens, cowboys, and yakuza thugs with a bag of coffee beans.. I played a loooot of this during Too many games 2018 and for its price its such a good beat em up. hard to tell what is happening, difficutly ramps up and drops randomly, Great music. A weird beat 'em up! Honestly, I can't get enough of these weird beat 'em up games. Reminds me of all the old NES games I used to rent in high school. It's an interesting game, has a kind of a unique story, and can be pretty unforgiving at times.. Cool retro style game, beat it in like a hour tho
